From the time Dr. Skopp was young, he knew he wanted to be a doctor to help people. He tried out a premed major at Binghamton University before changing to psychology. Along with his studies, he took some computer programming courses. Out of college, he worked as technical support and programmer. At the same time, he got involved in running and triathlons, which is how he met a sports chiropractor.
Eventually, he became a patient and was amazed at the results he got through chiropractic. Dr. Skopp decided to research more and found out that chiropractic could be preventative. With this in mind, he enrolled at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic.
The comprehensive training Dr. Skopp has undertaken focuses heavily on sports medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians. Additionally, he trained with Dr. P. Michael Leahy, the developer of Active Release Techniques® (ART), taking the inaugural course on this method. He has full credentialing in ART and has taught this technique to others for several years.
